Climbing at the foot of the Ortler
Climbing is what enthusiastic mountain lovers sometimes understand by being active in summer.
Climbing suggestions:
Take the Kanzel cableway to Düsseldorfer Hütte and then path no. 5. Start at the normal path of the Tschenglser Hochwand. Difficulty level: easy
The path leads over solid rock slabs and is therefore not endangered by rock fall. The secured path leads up to an altitude of 3,200m, and from there further along the mountain ridge to the summit. Some exposed spots.
Ascent: app. 3.5 hours from Düsseldorferhütte.
Descent: along the normal path.
Secured distance and height of the wall: 400m
Take the Langenstein chairlift to Tabarettahütte and then go towards the Ortler north wall entrance.
Difficulty level: difficult
This via ferrata is very exposed with difficult climbing passages over slabs, chimneys and intersections.
Secured distance: 700m,
height of the wall: 600m.
Descent: to Payer Hut, path no. 4.
